If you don't like little kids or music, this story might not be funny to you. However, if you like kids & you like music, you will probably enjoy.
The other day, one of my 3rd grade babies was singing something kind of under his breath so I asked him, "whatcha' singin'?"... this is how the conversation proceeded:
N: Oh! (now singing loudly) Shorty's like a melody in my head ah na na na every day, it's like my iPod's stuck on replayyyy!
Me: Oh my goodness.
N: Hey Miss Steel, don't you think it's weird that that song is stuck in my head and it's called replay? That's so weird!
Yeah, he's a real cute kid. :)

Hope for Haiti Now
I love when people put their celebrity to good use... Like this.
The Hope for Haiti Now campaign has really been heartwarming. There are good people out there, sometimes you just have to give them the chance to show it.
If you are looking for a way to support the relief in Haiti, but just haven't found the outlet to do so yet, here is another option- iTunes has compiled an album of all of the performances from the Hope for Haiti Now Telethon and 100% of the proceeds will all go towards relief efforts in the midst of the devastation. You can buy the whole thing for just $7.99 or pick and choose any of the $0.99 each songs. Whatever you do, the money will all go to aid. Love that.
So, if you really want to help in some way and you just so happen to love music, this iTunes download is the way to go.
Some of my favorites: Mary J. Blige, Hard Times Come Again No More; Christina Aguilera, Lift Me Up; Madonna, Like a Prayer; Justin Timberlake, Hallelujah; Jennifer Hudson, Let It Be...
Just can't get Haiti off my mind or heart. I have been trying to find any way, be it large or small, to do my part. So, if music is your thing & your looking for your way to help, make this your contribution.

So excited right now! My sweet friend, Amber, just finished up and shared her amazing wedding website- quite possibly the best wedding website I've ever seen :)
I am just thrilled for Amber and Greg and can't wait for June 5th!

Take me there
I don't officially have a "Bucket List", but from time to time things come to me that would be added if I had one of those "Things to do Before I Die" note pads.
Close to the top of the list is a trip to Ireland. Our family is Scottish/Irish, so I guess I could say I am interested because of the family angle, but that's not entirely true... mainly it's because I fell in love with the pictures and portrayals of Ireland from the big screen. Movies like P.S. I Love You and most recently Leap Year reeled me in.
Now, I understand that more often than not these big movies are shot in places like Canada and other random locations... but I am convinced the Ireland I hope to see someday is just as gorgeous as the shots from the scenes.
This little clip in particular is one that made me fall for Ireland. Just look at it.
So, with that being said and seen...
Dear future traveling pal/boyfriend/husband/or whatever fill-in-the-blank applies,
Be prepared for a trip to Ireland. Please and thank you :)

WWF
So yesterday at work, I noticed one of my 5th grade boys was staring at me. Not wanting to know what normally goes through a 12 year old boy's mind, I didn't venture to ask. However, my not asking did not stop this little friend... So after a few minutes of him kind of taking it all in, he takes a breath and asks,
"Umm excuse me, Miss? Do you have a sister that is like in the WWF? You look a bunch like one of the girl wrestlers."
I kid you not.
These are his words, not my paraphrase.
Yep, this happened.
Love my job hahahahaaaaa :)

Heart with Haiti
Yesterday, today, and I am sure for many days to come, my heart is and will be with Haiti.
I can't shake the pictures. I am glued to the news. & then I feel absolutely helpless after watching.
Pray without ceasing. Pray for wisdom for those making decisions on how to proceed from this point. Pray for healing of those injured. Pray for peace and comfort for the lives lost and for those mourning their loss. Pray for diligence for those trying to get in to the devastation to provide aid. At the risk of sounding repetitive, let me just say once more: Pray.

Shoe in the box
What did you get in the mail today? Anything good?
Well, I got these...

Thanks, Mr. Mailman!
Proof that good things come to those who wait: I had been eyeing (eyeing or eying?) these little babies for quite a while at every Tarjay store I walked in... but my cheap booty couldn't make myself spend the 20 whole dollars on them. {What can I say, I am my father's daughter when it comes to spending.} So anyway- the other day I was wandering through the Target website and searching through clearance when, surprise, my shoesies were on sale!! 10 Bucks. Bam. I am pretty sure they will be uncomfortable and blister inducive, but @ $10, I will suffer. :)

Free Vedera
If you want to add to your iTunes library this week, this one is FREE!
**On a side note: I really love iTunes. Many of their weekly free songs have become some of my favorites purely by accident and because of frugality :)
So, if you are a watcher of The Hills, Vedera might sound familiar. I think they have also toured with and opened for Mat Kearney recently. Love them and their sound.
Try it: Vedera Satisfy.

The cat needs a Chia Pet
He might look cute under the tree, but do not be fooled.I spent the better part of my morning shooing (is that a word?) this little man away from our Christmas tree... and yes, I know it is January 4... and yes, our tree is STILL up.
I was a little alarmed when I glanced over and noticed that our tree was literally swaying. Took me a minute to figure out what in the world was going on. Jack has decided this artificial tree makes for a pretty good snack. The cat is confused. Now I am convinced he needs his own little cat grass Chia Pet.
Whew, my life is i-n-t-e-r-e-s-t-i-n-g.
I just blogged about our cat, oh dear. I promise I am not a 'crazy cat lady'. I'm much too young. If I'm still blogging about cats when I'm 60, then you can be concerned. On that note, if I'm still blogging at 60 we will probably have other things to laugh about :)

Maybe she's born with it
I think I have the saddest little pair of eyelashes ever. I am pretty positive some of it may be due to eyelash abuse. Years of dance recitals and cheerleading = heavy makeup, which led to a loss of precious lashes. When there was too much mascara, I would kind of pull it off, which also meant some lashes would come with. Big oops. And now I have sad eyelashes.
So here's the purpose of this raaaandom post: any mascara suggestions? I've tried a whole bunch and almost feel like I should invest in a bulk package of fake lashes. Currently using the good old Maybelline Great Lash- ya know, pink and green tube. I have used many varieties of Clinique, which I must say, theirs tend to be a little hard to remove. Tried Stilletto and couldn't stand the smell. Used to use Volum Express but it got to be a little too clumpy for me. Do you girlies have any that you are hooked on and are worth a try? Let me know, por favor! :)
