Dye job?

Considering going dark... Pretty sure it would take me about 3 years to actually convince myself, but for now these are the two that I am obsessing over. Is that auburn? Maybe Kristen Stewart's without the black roots haha. Yes? No?

Thanksgiving break recap

  • Little Mexico. 3 times.
  • Pumpkin plethora: pie, roll, & coffee.
  • Fun with old friends- Kristin, Lacey, Jordan, Brett, Geoffrey, & Ariel... and many other Shelton Gin patrons that shall remain nameless. Haha what an experience.
  • Thanksgiving lunch with the fam = needing a membership to overeater's anonymous.
  • aTm vs. tu Thanksgiving day game! My Aggies put up a good fight, and I got so annoyed with the biased ESPN commentary that I emailed a complaint. Yep, I did. I am sure it was read with sincerity by an intern. Whatever, it made me feel better! Next year Ags, next year. :)
  • No Black Friday activities for this girl- I don't have the patience. Fridays after Thanksgiving at our house consist of cleaning out the fall decor and bringing in the Christmas! Is our tree done, you ask? Nope. Oops.
  • Thanksgiving leftovers make me a glutton. Embarrassing.
  • Saturday after Thanksgiving in Tyler. Let's see what I accomplished: oh yeah, nothing. Got a new shirt for myself, and bought Erin Sex & the City for $2.99 (amazing!!). Still have to take care of everyone's Christmas presents. Gonna' be busy this month.
  • Andddd that's about it. Woooo, that is one exciting break if you ask me. I'm a party animal. :)
  • 15 days left in Waco. Let the countdown begin... NOW

Oh Little Mexico, I have missed you.

I think I prefer woolves now

New Moon Thoughts:
$72.7 million in one night? Good gracious.

Thank you, Chris Weitz. Pretty sure you were better than Catherine Hardwicke.

So glad entire movie was not tinted blue- good work, crew.

Kristen Stewart was gorgeous throughout. Now, just get rid of that damn mullet in real life. You are a pretty girl. Mullets are not pretty, cut it out.

Alice Cullen/Ashley Greene is precious.

Could have lived without the sometimes cheesy computer generated Edwards. Just sayin'.

Jessica Stanley is a funny little character :)

Hey casting director, nice work with Victoria. I wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't already known.

The Volturi were sufficiently creepy- especially you, Dakota Fanning.

Omg Taylor Lautner. Is it okay to lust after a 17 year old? No, I do not think so. Can I help it? No, I do not think so. Geez, those muscles.

Dear R.Pats, I still love you too.

It is now much harder for me to "pick a team". I was an Edward while reading the books but my gosh, when you see Taylor Lautner it's hard not to go with Team Jacob. Haha I am so lame.

Of the 4, New Moon is probably my least favorite... however, I loved the movie, so good job! Looking forward to the next 2, or 3??

Good music? Check!

Will I see this over and over again, like most movies? Yep. :)

Nevermind IMDB's 4.5 stars, I give it a 10.

Did I mention I really like Taylor Lautner? And I'm pretending that he was not born in 1992.

Tweets

This morning, instead of last minute studying for my 9am test, I decided to stalk John Mayer. He was talking to Kidd Kraddick on the radio about his sillly Twitter tweets so I pulled up johncmayer on my handy dandy little phone. I laughed out loud at some of these:

Attention "New Moon" fans - buy Battle Studies and get a special code to enter into Fandango.com to get free tic- ah, forget it.

Criss-Cross Applesauce

I cannot even begin to understand the standard of living that struggling countries are facing today, but my heart aches for the sadness the people of those countries have to endure. My soul is continually captured by causes and foundations and companies that reach out and work for these people. Things like Invisible Children, The Water Project, TOMS, and my most recent discovery, Sseckos.

What in the world is that, you ask? Well first of all, we will start with how to say it... Very simple: /say-ko/. The heart, ambition and drive of the creator, this sweet girl, Liz Forkin, is something to be marveled at. If you have the time, go to the website, www.sseckodesigns.com. Read the story. I promise, it's worth your time.

I am buying a pair of these a-sap.

Dear John

Dear John Mayer,

Good job, I can't even pick a favorite.
However, you are looking a bit like Zoolander on this album cover.
How 'bout you just be cute and scruffy again?
I still love you :)

These twists and turns of fate

So not only do I love this song, Little Wonders, by Rob Thomas, but the quote they use at the end of this movie (Meet the Robinsons) is also one of my favorites :)

No I is not

Story of the day:
Today at work with the after school program at the Y, I was talking to my babies about Thanksgiving. We were going around taking turns sharing what we were thankful for. L is a 4 year old little boy and M & Lo are his 7 year old twin sisters...

Me: L, what is something that you are thankful for?

L: Ummmm Thanksgiving we go eat at my auntie's.

Me: Okay, but tell me something you are thankful for.

L: Ohhhh I thankful for my dog!

M & Lo (in unison): Whatever, you know you afraid of Pepper!!

L: No I is not!

I realize this story may have been funnier in person, but trust me, they are so funny. I love these kids :)

I always feel like somebody's watching me

My dear A&M,

I love you, but this is just a little bit creepy.
Thanks and Gig 'Em!

Quotable quote

"Love many things, for therein lies the true strength, and whosoever loves much performs much, and can accomplish much, and {what is done in love is done well}."

It's fun to stay at the Y-M-C-A

Recently I started working as a tutor at an after school program at a local YMCA in Waco. I mainly work with babies from 4-7 years old and let me just say, the things they say and ask are ridiculous. I have this same conversation with a 4 year old little boy pretty much every single day. (Fyi, he can't say my name so it comes out as Miss Embily)

Him: Miss Embily, you got a boyfriend?

Me: Nope.

Him: Ummm why not?!

Me: Just because.

Him: You got a husband?

Me: No.

Him: (long sigh) Well do you got kids?

Me: No, I'm too young!

Him: Nu-uh, you is reeaallly old.

Awesome. Not only does he have a problem with me not having a boyfriend, but I am also apparently really old. You can't help but love the little 4 year old mind.

Chicago's fall is better than ours

Got this picture in a message from a friend in Chicago today- it made my day and made me green with envy all at the same time. This is the kind of fall I am longing for. He better be careful offering his tour guide services, I might just take him up on it :)

Home is where your ♥ is

And my heart is in College Station... Obviously Palestine is my hometown and will always be quote-unquote where I am from, but College Station is where my heart is.

Driving to College Station Friday was such a wonderful trip. It is hard to explain, but as soon as I started seeing Bryan/College Station on the road signs, my entire demeanor changed- my body was physically relieved and relaxed and I was happy. What a good feeling. Spent the weekend catching up and playing with friends, watching my Ags win a good game, little adventure at Northgate... who could ask for anything more? On the to do list now: find a way to get back to College Station as soon as possible. Permanently. :)

Here's a little taste of the weekend:
